Hello,
I'm new to this site, hopefully I can find some help...
I recently contracted the SpyAxe problem, and remedied it myself. Although I thought it was gone, Norton soon kept showing me popup warnings that "Your email message was unable to be sent because your mail server rejected the message." I hadn't been sending any emails, so I knew this was some type of background process trying to send SPAM emails (they all seemed to have a pornographic subjects/headings). This was showing up 20-30 times per minute. I obtained a few programs to battle the processes, with no luck. Finally I uninstalled Norton and installed Panda Titanium 2006. This found some other stuff it didn't like, and I had that fixed.
Although all scans from Panda come up as clean now, I still suspect something is running in the background. Panda often shows itself as scanning e-mail, when I am not sending or receiving anything. PNmSrv.exe, a process related to Panda, is always using +-80% of my CPU (I had to set it to low priority so I could post something here haha). Also, explorer.exe is always using some of the bandwidth on my connection (I'm got NetLimiter 2, which shows statistics for bandwidth related to individual processes, in attempt to find background processes). I was wondering if the explorer.exe behavior is normal, and if anyone has any ideas as to what my problem could be. Next post is my HijackThis! log ...
Thank you very much!
