    Default IE Hijack on Network Detection with tsg-clan.com

    I've tried a lot of things.

    1) Norton Antivirus (2005)
    2) Microsoft Anti-Spyware
    3) Ad-Ware SE
    4) Manually look in Program Files
    5) Manually look at registered programs

    but to no avail.

    What happens is that upon the LAN detection, IE will activate and attempt to load from "http://www.tsg-clan.com/filelib/flielib/j.html". This website doesn't exist, so it fails.

    Attached is my HiJackThis log

    Thanks for the help.

    Pat

    hi pcread,

    any reason why you are going thru a proxy server?

    ProxyServer = http=localhost:8080

    did you make that change yourself?
    ------------------------------------------------
    scan with HJT, put a checkmark beside the items below, close all windows and click fix checked.

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Win32 USB2 Driver] winsnd32.exe

    do a online scan or two at one of these;

    BitDefender Free Online Virus Scan
    http://www.bitdefender.com/scan/licence.php
    check AutoClean under Scan Options.

    Panda ActiveScan
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/product...ACHEHINT=Guest

    Kaspersky virus scanner
    http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

    Housecall at TrendMicro
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/hous...start_corp.asp
    check Auto Clean.

    F-Secure virus scanner
    http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml

    eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner
    http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/virusinfo/scan.aspx

    reboot once and rescan with hjt and post a new log..............shelf life
