    Default Spybot starts at bootup

OK, this one I don't know why it does this. I've got it setup like the following.

    Advanced mode

Settings -> Program Start -> All unchecked except for Don't ask for fixing confirmation

Settings -> System Start -> No automation radio'd, and only Close program if everything's O.K.

So what am I doing wrong here that makes SpyBot startup during boot??

I am surprised that nobody has answered this yet, although it has been a while since I used this program as I am waiting on the new release 1.5, I am sure there is an option somewhere to disable it running at bootup.

I would check everywhere within the program option preferences.

See that's what is so weird about this. The options I've found in settings does in fact disable (well according to the setting that is) but it's like the program say's to me "well, you may want to not do this on startup but I'm going to do it for you cause it's a good thing" attitude.

Go into Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > System Startup. Look for any startup entries that might deal with Spybot. Dumpyz found a startup entry for "c:\program files (x86)\spybot - search & destroy\update.exe" that was causing Spybot to start at bootup. See:

I wow, this actually worked. Apparently my system startup didn't recognize this as an actual startup. So, hey, it's fixed.

I'm glad that you were able to get your problem resolved.

What was the startup entry you found? Was it same entry for "…\spybot - search & destroy\update.exe" that Dumpyz found or some other one?

I wanting to say it was the one you told me about. I went to Advance -> Tools -> System Startup and found that ungodly entry.

    HK_LM:RunOnce - SpybodSnD - C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Sestroy\SpybotSD.exe" /autocheck /autoclose
