Everything clean but still crashing

I'm having the same probs as a few other people with spybot s&d crashing about a 1/4 of the way through a scan.
I've read the other posts and hoovered the fans and blew out the heat sink which I do on a weekly basis anyway and I've not long reseated the heatsink as well.
When Spybot restarts the PC the temp is only 44 degrees c.
I run video conversions at a constant 70 degrees c for 3-4 hours continuously no probs.

I've only ever had the need for 4 programs to keep my PC clean, they are Spybot S&D, Ad aware, Avast Anti virus and Zone alarm.
These have served me well for a while now.

Certain Malware infections can also be involved in security programs shutting down or being disabled.

Any ideas what else to use to detect these, any help appreciated.

Spybot team indicate a false positive.

Search for my name in the forum
