    Angry Live Update Failing?

Hi, I used to have no problem running the live update in Spybot 1.4.
With help from FLO of spybot team, I've been able to maintain and run
it from each of the partitions (Win98SE) via the D-Drive.
For about two months now, though I see updates to keyloggers, etc.
the most recent is 28March2007. BUT... When I run the search for updates the only thing I am getting is main skins for colorblind 2005-01=28 which I don't need.
I understand it may be difficult to try to download them outside of live update
but why can't I see these as I did before so I can check them and download
properly. I haven't seen any recent problem on searching.
    Please inform....Thanks- Larry

There was similar problem reported by patmac who hasn't been able to update since 2007-02-28. See this thread:

Although we have not determined actual cause of the problem, on the surface it almost looks like the downloading of the spybotsd.ini file, which starts the update process, is getting an old copy of the file. This could be caused by the caching of the spybotsd.ini on a proxy server.

Do you access the internet through a proxy server? What ISP (Internet Service Provider) are you using?

Getting an answer is one thing, learning is another.

I have the same problem. The proxy gives me an old version of spybotsd.ini.

I have found in Internet that this problem should be avoid putting "Cache-Control: no-cache" in the http header when you make the http request. I don't know how your program is made, therefore I can't say how to do that.

But maybe, this information can help you to find the solution to this problem.

Sorry for my English, but it's not my native language.

If it is indeed a proxy caching problem, there are two sides: the client could tell the prxy to never receive this file from the cache; and the server could deliver a proper expiry date for the file. Finally, the proxy could ignore the expiry date, or the client setting (which is not likely though).
I added this request for some further looks into it
