Weird Mcafee detection error--Generic PUP.g

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Recently whenever my Mcafee runs a scan, I get two instances of a message "Generic PUP.g" detected.
1) it occurs in file "c:\documents and settings\kurt\desktop\Reboot.exe" in "c:\windows\explorer.exe"
2) occurs in C:\documents and settings\kurt\local settings\temp\arc0000.tmp and again in process "c:\windows\explorer.exe"

It asks me if I want to repaire/remove it; I say yes, then it informs me that all or part of it cannot be repaired/removed.

As instructed in this forum, I have done following:
1) run etrust Antivirus (nothing detected)
2) run latest version of spybot in safe mode -- nothing detected (I am always getting a wierd thing happening here when I am done in safe mode and attempt to restart computer: the computer has difficulty closing down ... i get message that program "sample.exe" is not responding, "end now?" -- the computer has to shut it down itself -- I metion this in case it is related).
3) ran trendmicro hijackthis 2.

if you still need help, post a new hjt log since its been awhile.
also have you updated ewido anti malware lately? ewido merged with avg months ago. ewido antimalware v3.5 is now called AVG antispyware.

while it may be possible to upgrade the software, i would remove ewido via the add/remove programs panel, reboot computer once then get avg, install, update and scan with it.
