I do know I am supposed to do a log from Hijackthis and such... but
I ran the free 'AVG ANTI ROOTKIT' programme, it found 'c:\sccfg.sys'
All I want to know is should I be concerned about this and is it safe to remove it,

AVG Anti-Rootkit is a good program, did it ask to remove the item for you? IF a rootkit infection is present, it did not get there by itself. I can't even tell you if I can help from the limited information you have provided.
