    Default Virtmonde and Zob

I just ran eTrust Antivirus Web Scanner and it didn't find a thing. My computer is definitely infected because it redirects 80% of the sites I want to visit. Thank You.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)

All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

    See this:

Before I start running tests for something I do not see, please tell me why you think you are infected with:
    Virtmonde and Zob
    1) Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
    http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe
    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/file...Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.

(hold that report and HJT log until you finish)

    2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
    http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

    3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    4) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
    Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Post the report from Fixwareout and a new HJT log. Include any information I requested.

This is an application associated with an online survey website...I have no idea what it actually does but it was requested to be downloaded to be able to complete the surveys.

You may want to consider why they would have to run this from your services on your computer. While I can not speak to this company, I can say often these "online surveys" are fronts for oportunities to collect information about you and what you do on your computer that they have no business collecting. They also will often supply you with adware popups that they use the information they collect to tailor to your habits. Do what you wish, but rest assured they would never be on a computer I own.

Let's hope you read what ever you agreed to when you allowed this installation.

C:\WINDOWS\Temp\kdejg.ren <<< just to be sure Wareout is gone, please delete the contents of that folder. You may remove Fixwareout from your computer, you can keep the ATF-Cleaner if you wish. Share it with your friends.

How's the computer running now, let's do this:

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...rc=sec_doc_nam

If you want to run a good free trial to check for hidden junk, use this one with these instruction, delete or quarantine anything it finds and post the scan results if you have questions.
    http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=3165
Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

    Some good information for you:
