Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
I thought I cleared Vundo, but it appears to have returned.
That's not a lot of information you have provided?
I see leftover junk but it looks like the infection has been killed. Do this and let's see.

    See this: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.p...80&postcount=2
You are running the newest version, check in Add Remove programs and uninstall any old versions.

    1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
    http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

    2) TeaTimer will block changes we must make, use these instructions and turn it off until you are done:
    http://russelltexas.com/malware/teatimer.htm

    3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {378FC968-E2A4-449D-9694-A314CD13CD7C} - (no file)

    O20 - Winlogon Notify: efcdeee - C:\WINDOWS\
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: opnoo - C:\WINDOWS\

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    4) Follow the directions in this link to run AVG Anti-Spyware, make sure you delete or quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.
    http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=3165

    5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
    Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post a new HJT log and some feedback.

    Thanks

I posted this query because Symantec detected Vundo and removed it. This happened in the past, and I had to use other tools besides Symantec to get rid of it.

The AVG log is very long and will take multiple posts. Should I still post it?

    Thank you.

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. Let me say this HJT log appears to be clean of malware, I can see no signs of the Vundo infection that I spend a lot of time removing. Since you just did remove it, I'll share this information with you:
Since there is a class action involving this one, you may want to view this information:

    http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks...q=winfixer+msn
    http://www.revenews.com/wayneporter/...l_network_now/

It may be that Symantec was seeing leftovers, or a file that was not removed by the tool you used (Vundofix I would assume) If you have no more problems with it, it is probably removed. I do have others tools we can run if you wish to look for anything remaining, but I believe you got it all.

To the AVG Anti-Spyware, if you followed the directions and deleted what was found and did not make the mistake of taking no action as it located junk, and you have no questions about the results, I do not need to see the results. If you do have questions, edit that part and post it, otherwise finish up like this.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
    http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...s/mcgill1.mspx

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Thanks for helping me clear out the Vundo leftovers. All AVG detected were cookies, so I don't have any questions about those.

    Thank you again.
