Am I Still Infected?

Well my computer was running very slow and I used Spybot S&D. It detected like 3 registry things along with spyware. I cleaned it up, re-scanned and restarted. Nothing came up again but an online thing I used detected things. As of now I don't have any anti-spyware detection anymore since mine expired. I have went through my computer deleting files, cleaning the disk and trying to restore my computer. This is kinda a check up and I am also looking around these forums for a good anti-spyware program.

What program is showing you this item and what exactly are the symptoms that you are experiencing? You have not supplied a lot of information and you HJT log is showing little.

First I must point out that anti-virus protection and anti-spyware protection are not the same thing and you appear to have neither?

I am not seeing malware in the HJT log, so let's take care of these issues and see how you are running. First you need to have a least this layered protection:
1) anti-virus
2) firewall
3) anti-spyware.

Well first off, I do know the diffrence between anti-virus and anti-spyware. I have done things to speed up my computer including.
-Disk Clean up
-Disk Defragmenting
-Used CCleaner, fixed some registry problems
-Cleared up unused desktop items and programs/files

I have read all the things for before posting the symptoms I had were slow computer, and some popups. I used the panda online scanner told me I had rootkits. And other Misc. stuff.

Please provide me with the logs from the scanner showing this so I can see what it is finding. If that scanner does not provide a log, then use this one:


Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here. Let me know if you still need information about a anti-spyware program once you have reviewed the information from experts I posted and post a new HJT log that is running at least a realtime antivirus program.
