Angry Lap top with 2 hard drives, C and D

I have a sony laptop with 2 hard drives, but only drive C has all the data, about 98% space used, and drive D has about 1% space used. Sony advertises this laptop to have 20 GB of hard drive space. When I view drive C it has 9 GB of total space, and drive D has 11GB total space. Right now drive C is almost full and my computer runs ultra slow. How can I utilize the full potential of this computer? I found that I can drag and drop from C to D, but I am afraid to try this for fear I will not have access to the data in drive D. How does this work?

What you need to do is either resize your partitions or merge them into a single partition (I caution against the latter in case you have programs installed that are pointing to that partition). Anyway, there are many programs out there that will do this for you from Partition Magic, to Paragon Partition Manager to Acronis products. Anyway, they all cost between $40-$75 and since you are only going to be doing this once (in theory), you probably want some free software to do this. Well, you are in luck... there are a few linux "live CD" products that are free and they will work (even on your Windows computer).

There is a very good set of instructions and it tells you what software to use, etc right here (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,1902337,00.asp).

Hope this helps with what you need.
