Default [Issue 062] SpyBot 1.5 Fails to Immunize All in Vista

As Administrator on a Vista machine, I chose to immunize but 695 entries (IE - Software - Plugins, if I remember correctly) were not processed.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

Windows Vista might tell you that you are not being allowed to operate at the administration level of your computer.
You can solve this problem as follows:
Right-click the Spybot - Search & Destroy entry in your start menu,
instead of just left-clicking to start it.
Then, choose Run as administrator from the context menu.
You will find a screenshot of this problem in our FAQ:

Vista does NOT tell me I am not being allowed to operate at the administrative level of my computer. I have full administrative rights. I receive no message from Vista or Spybot.

I uninstalled, reinstalled, ran the immunization function again and this time another group of entries (1000 of them) failed to immunize.

    Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Having full admin rights and using full admin rights are different with Vista.

Did you use what Sandra described? If there's no message, I suppose so, but since you haven't said clearly, I need to ask again

I did try "Run as administrator" (when running SpyBot and when installing) but SpyBot still will NOT immunize all. This last time I uninstalled (I ran "undo" first) and reinstalled, and ran the immunization function, it enabled protections previously not enabled and did not enable protections previously enabled.

I'm not sure what to do at this point.

    FYI:
I got all the immunization protection entries enabled by using the "Undo" function to remove all protection and then simply clicking on "Immunize" which enabled every item including the ones that were previously "stuck" as disabled.

I sure hope I don't run into this issue again especially since the "Undo" process takes a long time - it seems to be very slow when removing Firefox protection.

I can confirm this issue also happens on Windows XP (SP2).

    .DEFAULT (Cookies, Domain, IPs)
    S-1-5-18 (Cookies, Domain, IPs)

Both of those under IE (32/64 bit) do not immunize.

I can't confirm on XP SP2: On my system all the items immunize if they are selected (checkmark in the box) and do not if they are unchecked.

    Default Confirmed!

I can confirm the UNDO option takes a long time (15min) to complete. Also, first immunization fails on XP SP2. Following the steps, UNDO, then IMMUNIZE corrects everything.

Default Same Problem on my XP SP2 Machine

I just installed on XP SP2, immunized and was left with unprotected items in IE - Software - Plugins, the same issue as in my original post which was about Vista.

There is another post about this here:
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread...d=1#post117162

The fix is the same: "Undo" the immunizations, and then "Immunize" again.
