G'day mate, and welcome to the forum. David you have several nasties, read about them here:
    C:\Program Files\SigXC\SigX.exe
    http://castlecops.com/startuplist-5156.html

    O2 - BHO: CInterfaceObj Object - {58F07DD3-924D-4141-BC74-299F523A95F1} - C:\WINDOWS\pxwma.dll

    http://www.spywareguide.com/product_show.php?id=956

I believe since you have this stuff, a good cleaning is in order. I would like to start by suggesting that you uninstall this program:
    C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe
http://www3.ca.com/securityadvisor/p...x?id=453088059 While I am not an avocate of file sharing, you may find safe programs here:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/ Please follow this instructions in the posted order.

    1) You are running MSConfig in Selective Startup mode. I need to see all logs you post in Normal Mode.
click start-> run-> type msconfig and then go to the startup tab. Enable all > Apply > OK. You can return to Selective Startup to save resources once you are clean, thanks.

    2) Download CCleaner from this link: http://www.ccleaner.com/ Review the instructions http://www.ccleaner.com/help/tour1.asp and please do not run it until I ask you to.

    3) Download, update, configure and run these two programs: http://tomcoyote.org/aawsb.php
The newest version of Ad-aware is 1.06 and Spybot 1.04. Even if you have these programs, use the link to get the newest version, update and configure them as in the link. Run Spybot first, reboot then run Ad-aware. Both programs back up what they remove so delete anything the programs say should be removed.

    3) Ewido scan:
Please download Ewido Security Suite it is a trial version of the program.
    • Install ewido security suite
    • Launch ewido, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
    • The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update
    • Then click on Start Update
The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update Ewido.
    Ewido manual updates

Once the updates are installed do the following:
    • Click on scanner
    • Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
    • NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.**
      • You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
      • If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
      • DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
      • If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
    • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
    • Click Save report.
    • Save the report .txt file to your desktop.
    Now close ewido security suite.
**(Ewido for example has been flagging parts of AVG Anti-Virus, pcAnywhere and the game "Risk")

    4) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and uninstall: C:\Program Files\SigXC\ if it is there.

    5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    O2 - BHO: CInterfaceObj Object - {58F07DD3-924D-4141-BC74-299F523A95F1} - C:\WINDOWS\pxwma.dll
    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SigXC] C:\Program Files\SigXC\SigX.exe
(unless you are positive the 015 lines are safe, check and remove them)
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.boxsearch.net
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.brdatahost.com
    O16 - DPF: {D19781C5-2051-44F8-8445-DDC82933C191} - hXXp://advnt01.com/dialer/internazionale_ver11.CAB

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    6) Enable hidden files&folders..reverse the process when finished.
    http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

    C:\Program Files\SigXC\ >>> folder (if there)

C:\Windows\Prefetch\ >>> delete everything in this folder (NOT THE FOLDER)
    Prefetch info: http://www.windowsnetworking.com/art...efetch-XP.html

    7) Run CCleaner, Windows & Applications when you run the registry cleaner (Issues) you will be prompted to backup before you can remove stuff, make sure you do. Then restart the computer and post a new HJT log and the Ewido scan results in this same thread along with any feedback you have. How the box running now?

    Thanks...pskelley

G'day mate, I like to flipped when I saw the log, then I realized you only did step one. You do have additional junk I could not see in Selective Startup, and here they are:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdUpdater] C:\WINDOWS\sysupudt.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AdPopup] C:\WINDOWS\dcf5678.exe

The first is adware, the second is a trojan. These need to be checked and deleted with HJT and the files need to be deleted.

    C:\WINDOWS\sysupudt.exe >>> file

    C:\WINDOWS\dcf5678.exe >>> file

add this to the above instructions and then complete all instructions before posting the ewido scan report and a new HJT log.

    Cheers...Phil

We could edit out cookies and System Restore items, but I would like to see the log. Just divide it into two pieces and post away

HJT log looks good, how is the computer running?

Comp not running tooo bad - although i enjoy having the Pentium _MULTI TASK_ rather then gaming

Cheers for the help - if i want to do reports on the rest of my family's PC do i just create new threads or usernames? just mum and dad wont convert to firefox so if i show them how much stuff they could potentially have they might change there minds.

Hello David, first...I prefer not to open attachments. Please break the scan report into however many posts you need to. If we can assume you deleted all cookies during the scan, you may edit out the cookies and any items that are in a quarantine (you should clean out that quarantine area) and any items that start with System Restore. Thanks.

I will say this, Firefox is a good browser as is Internet Explorer. Once the hackers have the numbers with Firefox they now have with Internet Explorer, they will go after it. Folks without layered protection and poor surfing habits are going to get infected no matter what browser they use. Folks who follow sound advice and do their best to surf safely and use good overall online habits are rarely going to have a problem. Having said all of this, it is best if you start a new topic for each log you are going to post.

Once I make sure nothing nasty could not be removed by ewido, I will have some safety information from four experts in the field.

    Thanks...Phil
