    Default english menu /french text

    Hi
    ---
    I'm using SPYBOT english menu.
When i'm getting into specific spot I get french text.
***My windows were some time ago on french***
    To be specipic:
In advenced mode -> scheduler -> edit
I get a new window "spybot search ans destroy - scheduled task"
all the text on that page is in french. I need the english version..

note : I had the same problem on some other tool and I recived a xxx.chm
file that included the english version text of that tool.

    please help me.

It appears that when you edit the scheduled task, your are actually using the Windows Scheduled Tasks interface. Go in Start > Control Panel > Scheduled Tasks. Double click on Spybot – Search & Destroy – Scheduled Task. Is that also in French?

I really don’t know. Scheduled Tasks seem to be a shell namespace extension (at least in my XP Home) and I was unable to definitively determine what software would have to be replaced to change from French to English, but I'm sure it's more involved than replacing a compiled help (.chm) file.

What a great way to learn a new language! :D

Well, you should use a tool like our FileAlyzer to take a look at c:\windows\system32\mstask.dll .
The "Version" tab should show you whether that file is the English or French version. And if you click on the "String Table" entries on the "Resources" tab, you should see the texts used by that file. If they are french - you somehow got that file replaced with a french version. You'll have to get the version from your CD and replace it with that...

One idea: did you download a french instead of english Service Pack for Windows at some point? That would explain why some files are french now.

    Default english -> french

The change was from french to english. And seems that some elements remain in french. More in my next message...

    Default Thank you ...

After replacing the file the task screen looks better (see attached file).

but the task is not running the SPYBOT.
I have removed the spybot line from the task list in order to add it as done in the first time.

    But .....
When i go to the SPYBOT scheduler menu the add option is not accessable
(grey color)(see attached file). What has gone wrong ???
I reinstalled spybot .... same thing

i'm sill on win 98 as before.
