    Default I have viruses and smitfraud problems...

    I tried to do everything you said in that one post ... before posting. But my computer would not let me turn it on in safe mode. I tried a couple of times but it wouldnt do. So here is the HJT report. Its too long to add the kapersky report. Also, I recently bought spyware doctor but it hasnt found anything like the spybot has. Are they 2 different things? Or should they be doing the same thing, and finding the same stuff? Oh yeah, my problem with the smitfraud, ... it keeps finding it and I delete it but it keeps coming back. Oh, its smitfraud-c. K, thanks!

    Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
    "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
    All advice given is taken at your own risk.
    Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

    Thanks for the feedback, don't run and post a Kaspersky scan until I request it. The junk may be able to download more so I advise you to stay offline except when troubleshooting until we kick out the junk.

    I need to do a little research because much of the infection is hidden, read and follow the directions carefully.

    http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<< download Smitfraudfix from here and follow ONLY these directions.

    Search:
    Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
    Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

    Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
    http://www.beyondlogic.org/consultin...rocessutil.htm

    Post only the C:\rapport.txt

    Thanks

    Good morning Katie and thanks for returning that information. There is no evidence of Smitfraudfix on your computer.

    I see one item that probably has not gotten added to the tool yet, and some junk that needs to go. Let's see if we can clean you up with HJT.

    1) Remove Smitfraudfix from your computer.

    2) How to make files and folders visible:
    Click Start > Open My Computer.
    Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
    Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
    Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
    You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

    3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
    http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
    Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

    4) Turn off Spyware Doctor, it may try to block what we must do.

    5) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove programs and uninstall C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\ (probably MyWaySearch)

    6) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway
    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {4D25F926-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll (file missing)

    (the Adobe item is not bad, but damaged and not working right if at all. Download it again when we finish if you use it)

    O2 - BHO: Adobe PDF Reader Link Helper - {06849E9F-C8D7-4D59-B87D-784B7D6BE0B3} - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX\AcroIEHelper.dll (file missing)

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4D25F921-B9FE-4682-BF72-8AB8210D6D75} - C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\SrchAsDe\1.bin\deSrcAs.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: OFK System - {F08487B1-AFEC-45CF-B2E9-D05DEE137D22} - C:\WINDOWS\blopenvtok.dll
    O3 - Toolbar: The retnsrp - {9EF873D0-0259-4D2A-AA60-F61FA5B28FE8} - C:\WINDOWS\retnsrp.dll (file missing)
    O16 - DPF: {DF780F87-FF2B-4DF8-92D0-73DB16A1543A} - http://download.games.yahoo.com/game...ploader_v6.cab

    Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

    7) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

    C:\Program Files\MyWaySA\ <<< delete that folder

    8) Run ATF Cleaner
    Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
    Click the Empty Selected button.
    Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

    Restart and post a new HJT log and some feedback.

    Thanks...Phil

    Default New HJT

    Hello! Thanks so much for helping me with this! Before you wrote me back the first time, I'd found out that ego was some kind of virus (its funny cause I'd always wondered...) so I deleted that at the place where it says add or remove programs. I dont know if that was the reason I couldnt find a few of the things you mentioned.
    #5, I went to remove my way search assistant, and it said the specified module could not be found. Its still there on the list, but it wont let me delete it.
    #6 - blopenvtok.dl and theretnsrp I couldnt find on the list.
    #7 - I can't find this folder either.
    Since I've been having these problems this past week, (maybe just since I downloaded spyware doctor?) I havent been able to play on neopets.com. Do you think it could be because of the viruses or whatnot? Maybe that will fix after this stuff is fixed! :D

    Anywho... thanks so much :D

    Your HJT log is clean, let's have a look at a Kaspersky scan. Follow these instructions.

    Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
    Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

    Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

    You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

    * The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
    * Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
    * Now click on Scan Settings
    * In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    * Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
    * Standard
    * Scan Options:
    * Scan Archives
    * Scan Mail Bases
    * Click OK
    * Now under select a target to scan:
    * Select My Computer
    * This will program will start and scan your system.
    * The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
    * Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    * Now click on the Save as Text button:
    * Save the file to your desktop.

    Then post it here. Post a link to the website you are trying to get to so I can make sure it is working.

    Thanks

    Default Kaspersky

    Well, this is much better than the first scan I did! The first scan found 10 viruses and this one only 2!
    The website I'm trying to get to is www.neopets.com. I'm able to get on it on my husbands computer and play on it there, but when I try on this computer, it just takes forever to load, or it doesnt work at all. I havent tried since we've been trying to fix this though, since you told me to stay off the net! Thats ok though :D Maybe it will work when we're done. After this stuff is fixed, I'll let you know :D

    Thanks for returning your scan results, I have no problem opening that link, so it may be a browser issues. Have a look at this information:

    Where is Mark downloading this junk from? I suggest you delete all of this stuff. When it is deleted, run a new Kaspersky skan to be sure it is clean, do not post a clean scan.
    I posted this junk so you could see it.

    Default quick question :D

    Hello! I was wondering, if I delete all that stuff from Mark's side of the computer, will it get rid of the last 2 viruses?

    Also, to delete those items, do I just search in my computer and delete? Or windows explorer? I feel like I know the aswer but Im feeling a little stumped here! lol...

    Thanks :D

    Number of viruses found: 2
    Number of infected objects: 24

    The best I can figure out the junk from here, is to delete the files in red and run another scan to make sure they are all one. I do not want to see more scans, you may want to ask him to sort out this mess it appears he has made.

    C:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Desktop\My Shit\Games\Naval_Strike_Demo.exe
    C:\Documents and Settings\Mark\Desktop\My Shit\Games\Tank_Assault.exe

    Right click Start then click Explore for the tree then:
    C:\ > Documents and Settings > Mark > Desktop

    Thanks
