    Hi

"Should I go ahead and run the Kaspersky scanner now ?"

    Yes, please

"Then afterward can we remove Explorer- that caused many problems a few years ago and I'm really not comfortable with IE at all !"

No we won't remove IE (it's part of windows so that is very hard to do, almost impossible) but you don't need to use it after scans

    Hi

It might take 2-3 hours (scanning time depends on how much stuff is in your computer).

If you cancel scan, you will have to start from square one, unfortunately.

Not long any more today, but again tomorrow.

ok, last question before the scan... do I close everything before scanning including the IE window, or does that need to be open for the scan to work ??

Then after the scan, I can close it out after posting the results with fresh HJT log right ?

I'll be checking in to see when you can get back to me- thank you sooo much, please dont forget about me, Merry Christmas !

IE window must be open during scan, rest windows can be closed.

Yes after you have copied scan results.

And Merry Christmas to you, too

    Hi

There is no zoom because your IE is 6, not 7.

And you are running scan with IE and not Netscape?

    Here's what I just got...what next ?

Failed to load Kaspersky Online Scanner ActiveX control!

    You must have administrative rights on this computer;
you also must have the IE security settings to the Medium level.
