Please Help - I Can't Figure Out What's Going On

Please help me. Even after wiping my computer it continues to do wierd things. I seem to be missing 6GB of hard drive space and all kinds of services and processes are running. I also don't have access to some directories. I get messages to check with my Systems Administrator. Here are the logs from Kapersky and HiJack This. Thanks for any help.

Lets run an F-Secure online scan.

• Allow the Active X control to be installed on your computer, then click the Accept button

• If malware is found, check Submit samples to F-Secure then select Automatic cleaning
• When cleaning has finitished, click Show report (this will open an Internet Explorer window containing the report)
• Highlight and Copy (CTRL + C) the complete report, and Paste (CTRL + V) in a new reply to this post

If Automatic cleaning with Submit samples hangs, click Cancel, then New Scan

• When the cleaning option is presented, Uncheck Submit samples to F-Secure
• Click Automatic cleaning

When booting, the POST message shows that the BIOS and the Video BIOS status are both shadowed. I can't find the option to turn it off. Also, I can’t manage S.M.A.R.T. in the BIOS. My HDD is a 120GB capacity but it shows up in Windows as 111.79 GB, down about 2GB since my original post.

When I’m working on the computer, especially on the Internet, the windows seem to flutter when I scroll and I can't log into some sites that require a password. When I'm trying to do things I sometimes get messages saying that I don’t have permission and to contact my Systems Administrator. This computer is not in a domain - at least I didn't join it to one. I’ve tried to delete some files and directories that either give me an “Access Denied” error or reappear immediately.

I cannot install my printer since I wiped the computer. The software will not install at all from the CD – I don’t remember the error message. I downloaded and installed the software from HP’s website. When I connect the printer, the computer sees the printer and the driver software appears to see the printer but after trying for a while the printer does not install.

That’s all I can think of for now.

I forgot to mention that the date 3/31/2003 is on many of the troublesome files and directories. This computer is only 1 year old and I've wiped it several times to no avail trying to regain control.

For now in add and remove programs remove Ad-Aware 2007.

After that disconnect the PC from the internet, disable the anti-virus program [Avast4].

Then try to install the printer.

Don't install ad-aware right now.

If you get a error installing the printer let me know what it was.

Thanks, Little Eagle. The test page printed and listed a wierd DLL file (UNIDRV.DLL) as the driver name as well as about 20 other files that use the same driver. I restarted Avast before reconnecting my LAN cord but did not reinstall Ad-Aware, as requested.
