Thanks again for all this help... when I ran that scan I had almost ten thousand infected objects!!! I hope we figure out how to get this all un-junked!

I'm sorry to bring you bad news. Your latest Kaspersky log shows that you have Virut.AV infection that infects all .exe & .scr files (including the ones inside .zip files) on every drive of your system. That leaves complete reformat the only option available.

The files you can safely backup are pics, docs, music, movies. No .exe, .scr or zipped files must be backuped.

I am not sure that I have my XP CD any longer... if that is the case will I need to go and purchase a new XP Pro CD?

This is frustrating to say the least, but at least I now know what I can do to fix the problems I'm having.
