    Default Spyboty wont search past CoolWWWsearch

    Hey..im new here and was looking for some help.over the past couple of days i've been getting a pop up that says

    "You're computer was infected by an unknow trojan.
    It is dangerous for your system(cirtical files can be lost)

    Click ok to download the antivirus progrom to clean your system(recomended)"

    and when i run spybot..it wont scan past CoolWWWSearch

    can anybody help me figure out whats wrong and how to fix this??

    Which version of Spybot do you run?
    Did you download the latst updates?

    i redownloaded the program yesterday..

    its version 1.5.2.20

    and i have the updates too..

    I too have just upgraded to the new Spybot 1.52.2.20, and it will not scan past "CoolWWWSearch", 23368/109940

    Hello,

    Please try the following:
    Please run Spybot - Search & Destroy in "Advanced Mode" and go to "Settings" -> "Ignore products".
    There tick the checkbox in front Coolwwwsearch.
    Please try if the scan works now.

    ok...i just let it run a scan..and it will finish..but it will take a LONG time...like a good hour or so..

    and when its done..it finds like a file that it cant fix...

    worldsecurtiyonline.fakealert

    can you tell me how to fix that?

    Please run a scan in safe mode:
    http://www.computerhope.com/issues/chsafe.htm
    That should fix it.
