Default Need help please with removal of Winfixer

    Hello,
Guess I was not practicing safe surfing or the something...anyway, need help getting rid of Winfixer. Spybot ID's and tries to fix, but it always launches again. Norton IS does not find it. Can someone walk me through the removal please. Thank you!

    Hi

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.
    1. Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
    2. Put a check next to Run VundoFix as a task.
    3. You will receive a message saying vundofix will close and re-open in a minute or less. Click OK
    4. When VundoFix re-opens - Click the "Scan for Vundo" button.
    5. Once it's done scanning, click the "Remove Vundo" button.
    6. You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click "YES".
    7. Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
    8. When completed, VundoFix will prompt that it will shutdown your computer; click "OK".
    9. Turn your computer back on.
    10. Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Default VundoFix did not run as task...

    Hi Steam,
Thanks for the help! I down loaded VundoFix.exe to my desktop and tried to run as a task. It gave me the close/reopen message and I OK'd, but it never reopened. Has been about 6 minutes now. Should I run again and "Scan for Vundo"? Or is something amiss?

    Default Thank You!

    Hi Steam,
Thank you SO much for your help. With Spybot and Spyblaster running should this keep it from re-infecting?

    Good job, both of you.
Since the problems are solved Im going to close the topic now, this keeps others with similar problems from posting there logs/question here, they should start a new topic.
If you should need to post another log for the same PC let Me or Tashi know.
