Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
    http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Read the directions, then post a HJT log that is not formatted and the required Kaspersky online Scan and I will be glad to take a look.

I can not say for sure but CID popups are usually LOP/C2 Media related, see this:
    http://research.sunbelt-software.com...&threatid=8144
    http://hubpages.com/hub/Cid_Pop_ups

I would also like to look at your uninstall list like this:
    Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
    Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP,
Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list
    )

    Recap: Read all directions
Note: In notepad under Format, uncheck "Word Wrap" Produce all HJT logs like this, single spaced.
single-spaced - (of type or print) not having a blank space between lines.
    Provide:
    a) The HJT log.
    b) The Kaspersky log report.
    c) uninstall list

    Thanks

probably not the right thing to do but its a learning curve for me

I could not scan that formatted log so I was not aware you were running MSConfig in Selective Startup made. I need you to return to Normal Mode in MSConfig. You may run Selective Startup to save resources when we are finished.

Once you return System Configuration Utility (MSConfig) to Normal Mode, produce and post a new HJT log.

    Thanks

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. You are indeed showing the marker for LOP/C2 Media now:
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Comp about extra bin] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Roam Program Comp About\Amen style.exe

I am going to need to see the Kaspersky online scan eventually, how many bytes is the report.

    See this: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.p...80&postcount=2
I think if you check your Java program you will find an update, then uninstall all old versions in Add Remove programs.
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
    Java(TM) 6 Update 3
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 6 Update 1

Here is some more information about how this infection could have happened:
    http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/43.html

Please Download NoLop to your Desktop from one of the links below...

    http://www.spywareedge.net/nolop/NoLop.exe
    http://www.spywaretimes.com/Tools/Do...eTools/NoLop!/
    http://www.thespykiller.co.uk/index....tpmod;dl=get16

First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
Double click NoLop.exe to run it.
Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
    Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish Please Post the contents of C:\NoLop.log along with a fresh HijackThis log

--If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun the program. --
