Virtumonde won't budge!

Salutations! I've taken the time to read through the sticky on "BEFORE you POST". It appears as though my computer is infected with Virtumonde and no steps taken on my own have been able to correct the issue. The HJT log was too large to be in a single post, and I have the Kaspersky log able to be sent if requested.

I use spybot and avast! AV,and this is a legitimate install of windows XP from Dell.

sorry for delay, no shortage of posters. if you are still having problems: download and run combofix:

Download combofix from one of these links and save it to Desktop:

as a precaution, before using combofix:

Note:Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

* Click on this link below to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive. If yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it, please ask.
* Remember to re enable the protection again afterwards before connecting to the net

2. Close any open browsers and make sure you are disconnected from the net. Unplug the cable if need be before running combofix.

* IF you have not already done so Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet when it starts.
* If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.


3. Now double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review


Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze.

before we proceed: update and run malwarebytes once and lets run vundofix once also:

download and run vundofix.exe:

* Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
* Click the Scan for Vundo button.
* Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
* You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
* Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
* When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
* Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Well, that was odd. I ran VUNDO from the link you sent in the last post, but it couldn't find anything to remove. I feel that I should mention that before I posted here I read over the forums and followed the instructions posted for the removal of the same virus that someone else had. By following the instructions that someone from your team gave to another person, I had removed some of the infection but not all of it, that is when I requested help and first posted. I hope that isn't a problem, but I was able to get another HJT log for your review as per request. Sorry if I have messed anything up, and for the late posting. I have been busy with dental work and work work lately and haven't had enough time to get online. (Wisdom teeth being removed is no fun :( ) Anyway, here is that log!

ouch no, luckily ive never had to have mine removed

combofix is updated often, so since its been several days i would uninstall the current copy, then download and run a new one.

to remove it you would go to:
start>run and type in combofix /u
note: there is a space after the x and before the /

reboot computer once then get a new copy: like last time:

2. Close any open browsers and make sure you are disconnected from the net. Unplug the cable if need be before running combofix.

* IF you have not already done so Combofix will disconnect your machine from the Internet when it starts.
* If there is no internet connection when Combofix has completely finished then restart your computer to restore back the connections.


3. Now double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it will produce a report for you.
Please post the "C:\ComboFix.txt" along with a new HijackThis log for further review


Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall or freeze.
