Is your computer a Dell and is the path to dsagnt.exe
    'C:\Program Files\DellSupport\DSAgnt.exe" /startup'

Also please look in ADD/REMOVE and see if 'My Way Search Assistant' is installed.

Are you running Spybot-S&D and if so which version.
Open Spybot Search & Destroy > Help > About.

    Regards.

    Default DSAgnt.exe

Hi Tashi! Yes, it's a Dell. I was attacked yesterday by spyware and used Spybot. It removed many, but I was still getting the beware screen when I started up. Finally, I restored the system to last week and then ran Spybot. It fixed that problem. I have had the DSAgnt. thing for months and it is still there. I'm not sure how to see what the path is. I have looked at the programs a million times when I was dealing with the other problem, but I don't remember seeing My Way Search Assistant there. The Spybot version is 1.5.2.

I really appreciate your quick response.

    Hi there bonthefarm,

Could be several factors going on here, from a corrupted dll to leftovers from an infection.

Please see this topic: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) Skip the Spybot-S&D and Anti Virus scan for now and just produce a HJT log.

Copy paste the HJT log into a new topic you would start here: Malware Removal Forum and I will ask one of our helpers to take a look when on-line.

    Cheers, tashi

Hey Tashi, I'm afraid I don't know what a HJT log is. Sorry, I'm rather ignorant about this.

    Hi there,

HiJackThis (HJT) is a tool used to look at an operating system so that someone can make an analysis.

The topic in the link I gave has instructions on how to produce one and post it.

If you peek into the malware forum, you will see each topic has a HJT log.

Thank you so much. I'm ignorant, but I'm learning all the time! I just don't want to learn the hard way again!

    Again, thanks, you're a doll!!
