    Hi

If you set Obtain DNS servers automatically, you can try again to fix those 017 entries.

If you loose internet access again, restore them.

    Also do this, please:

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner. You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
    • The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
    • Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
    • Now click on Scan Settings
    • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:

o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

+ Extended (If available otherwise Standard)

      o Scan Options:

      + Scan Archives
      + Scan Mail Bases
    • Click OK
    • Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
    • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Please do not use your computer while the scan is running. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Click the Save Report As... button (see red arrow below)
    • In the Save as... prompt, select Desktop
    • In the File name box, name the file KasScan-ddmmyy (or similar)
    • In the Save as type prompt, select Text file (see below)
    • Now click on the Save as Text button
    • Savethe file to your desktop.
    • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

Note: This scanner will work with Internet Explorer Only! Keep ALL other programs closed during the scan

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.

hi shaba thanks for your reply

Im having problems with internet explorer and kaspersky
when i try to open explorer i get a page saying- Internet explorer is currently running without add-ons- and im prompted to click the home icon which acceses google ok. Going to tools the manage add-ons is grey and not accsesable so i go to control panel-internet options-programs-manage add-ons and all the add-ons are enabled.

When i try to run kaspersky it will not load the active-x i get the error message- Failed to load Kaspersky online Scanner ActiveX controll You must have Administratite rights on this computer you must also have IE security settings to medium level.

I should have administritive rights and when I try to change IE security setting it will not set to medium i get a pop-up- IE sheild possible browser hijack blocked. Ive looked for IE shhield to turn it off but cant find it

    Hi

    Then we use this:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

    • Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    • At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    • Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
    • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    • Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
    • When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
    • Please post contents of that file in your next reply.

Hi shaba thanks for your reply
Iv'e got COMODO firewall installed and when i'm downloading and installing software such as Malwarebytes or Kaspersky is it ok to disable it so that software installs quicker and i'm not constantly clicking ok in the warning popup then enabling it when the download has finished or would it be best to leave it enabled all the time ?

Is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware the same as Spybot or does it do somthing different and can i use it on a regular basis like i do Spybot ?

If you have Defense+ enabled, you should put it into Installation Mode while installing or installation is really painful with all those Defense+ popups.

    They are both anti-malware programs.

You can use them both on a regular basis.

    Any issues left?

    Hi

Then one more question before all clean:

Does F.secure have a firewall, too?
