The program that was not responding was spelt exactly as 'cardreaderlookupwindow'
I have no doubt the spelling is correct, I was asking for the rest of the words in the message exactly as they occured. Here is the google on
    "cardreaderlookupwindow" >> http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...=Google+Search
From the little I read it may be a faulty USB or stick?

Please post the HJT log I requested.
Post a new HJT log. I want to see the KOS results when you can post them also.
    Thanks

    Default new HJT

Hi, I think it was an issue with my flash drive.
How long are you available to help me today and do you help on Saturdays and Sundays?
After a clean reboot here is the HJT log.

I am a volunteer, I can commit to no exact schedule. If you post, I get to it as soon as possible, I am working with around 15 folks at the same time.

This one will be hard because the junk is logging in during the boot process, we will try Vundofix first.
Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

    Download VundoFix" to your Desktop

    http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4

Follow these directions starting at: Normal Usage for Removal
    http://vundofix.atribune.org/

Post the Vundofix.txt and a new HJT log
Vundofix.txt will be on the C:\

    Thanks

    Default Vundofix

    Hi,

I tried Vundofix prior to requesting help from you guys and from what I recall, it took a long time (~1hr) to scan and it found nothing. If it doesn't find anything do you still want a new HJT log?

I and I'm sure everyone else you help appreciates the work that you are doing on a volunteer basis. It is of real value to people so I have no issues with donating to the cause via paypal or whatever but after this experience I am a bit hesitant to pay anything via internet. Is pay pal safe? What if you have used paypal or some other on line payment service and you are later infected with spyware? Is your credit card info at risk?

Please follow the directions I post, I would like to see a Vundofix report from the most recent update of that tool.
If you have Vundofix onboard, delete it and download it new from the link I provided.
    Here is security information:
How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10451
When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall
    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/10063

This particular infection is normally about selling fraudulant malware programs.
Since there is a class action involving this one, you may want to view this information:
    http://www.networkworld.com/news/200...-unravels.html
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBUZHiKhsog
    http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks...q=winfixer+msn

I should have mentioned that most tools I run take an hour or more, here is an alternative if you would prefer not to take the time to clean the infection, there is no way to guarantee how long it will take.

Make sure all files and folders are still visiable

Open Vundofix by Doubleclicking on it, then point your mouse to the white box above the buttons and right click, then click on Add More Files. When the "Select Files" Window opens copy and paste the file/s one at a time in the "File Name:" box and click Open to add them. When then are all added right click the Windows and choose "Select All" then "Fix Vundo".

    (file to add)

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\geBuUlLE.dll

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {A98D0065-7326-41B5-B8D9-C5B692CDB82F} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\geBuUlLE.dll
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: geBuUlLE - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\geBuUlLE.dll

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Right click Start > Explore and navigate to these files/folders and delete them if there.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\geBuUlLE.dll <<< make sure that file is gone

Restart and post the report from Vundofix and a new HJT log.

    Thanks

    Default Vundofix not working

    Hi,

I have added the file and Vundofix said it could not delete it so it initiated a reboot and retry and after retry it still cannot delete it.
