I can't get a screen capture of avast. It won't paste in this window.

I'm not sure what to do to get you a picture of the avast chest. I know that there are 413 various executable files in my chest all that say that they have Win32:Virtob-gen. All show that they were last changed on 10/26/07 or 10/27/07, but all transfered to the chest on 4/29/08.

Sorry to be such a burden here.

    Default No

Well, all the ones that you can see in the screen capture are in the system restore, but like I said earlier, I can scroll down and there are several other executables that show the same virus infection.

Here are a few more screen shot links that show some of the other infected programs. Down in the lower left, you can see how many files are infected. All 413 are the same virus.

    Hi

Regarding to which files they are (windows own exes), I truly recommend reformatting, unfortunately.

Let me know if you need help with it.

    Default O.k.

I think I will be able to handle that. I will just burn the word docs and excel docs to a disk and re-format. Thanks for all your assistance and patience. You guys all do a great job at these forums!!!

I will post back if I run into any issues. Thanks again.
