Error Message

Error during check!: InterFun (Datei C:\WINDOWS\system.ini kann nicht geöffnet werden. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process) ()
This is the error I got when I updated and ran the newer spybot. It stopped after going through a couple thousand.
Next one stopped at around 18,000 with the message:
Error during check!: Mailbot (Datei C:\WINDOWS\win.ini kann nicht geöffnet werden. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process) ()

Hi DobieG,

I think you are still using version 1.3 of Spybot-S&D, it that correct?
The error usually appears because of a few compatibility problems of new detection rules to the old version.
Please uninstall it to the following instructions: http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/27.html

Then download the new 1.4 from one of our mirrors on the following page:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

After that install Spybot-S&D 1.4 and the error should be disappeared.
