Default Same file over and over after auto scan on boot up

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this, but about 2 or 3 months back I read here how to fix the file of a scan that shows up each time after a autorun.

Spybot reports that some files could not be fix, can sb run next time windows boots back up, yet when it boots back up the same file shows up and then again same question, can sb run after windows boots back up.

Tryed a search but somewhere in these forums was a post about this and that the file sb reports is store on the harddrive or in a file and you had to delete it to clear the autoscan reports, can some tell me how to remove it or give the link to the thread that was posted about this. Thanks

Lightbulb try scanning in safe mode......

    with your security software.

you could always try scanning with spybot in safe mode,

along with other antispyware or an antiviruis program.

FIRST UPDATE ALL SECURITY SOFTWARE, ANTIVIRUIS ANTISPYWARE, ETC.

How to boot into safe mode:

Reboot your computer into SafeMode by doing the following:

    * Restart your computer
    * After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, begin tapping F8.
    * Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear.
    * Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
    * Once windows loads, launch spybot and do a complete scan. remove anything found. Launch other security software and scan with them as well, remove anything found.
*restart your machine, you are now using windows in normal mode.*

    Does that help?

That would be the best way to insure you are clean and that should be able to remove everything that you could not remove before. If you continue to have problems after scanning in safe mode, and the threats have not been cleaned, post back and let us know immediately. I would after you ensure you are clean, make sure you have installed the latest version 1.6. =]

by the way, to the forums!!

Not really, I wish I knew the right way of saying this, but somewhere theirs a file generated of the scans SB did, so when or if SB needs to rescan next time windows boots up because some files are in use by memory, thats the msg I get.

Sb could not fix some files because they still may be in use by memory, can Sb scan next time windows boots up. After Sb runs the scan it reports the same files again and ask the same question again. Their was a post on this once by someone else to clear up this msg.

    Lightbulb see to me

it sounds like you are saying spybot detected threats, then spybot said it could not remove them, and asked you to restart the computer to remove the threats, and i thought you were saying that then they were still there.

Are you talking about just when spybot launches and is asking about temporary files?

I'm sorry if i am not getting it, if i am not getting it hopefully someone else can help you. I'm sorry. :(

@jimbo, what does Spybot-SD detect? Have you ran a anti-virus scan?

Start a thread in the Malware Forums:

Consider posting in the Malware Removal forum and having someone take a look at your system.

If you decide to have an experienced malware removal specialist assist you, please follow the procedure in this link to run scans and produce a HijackThis log:

This could be Virtuemonde or SmitFraud as they are persistent in removal.

Actually,I was wondering if you could post the log of what Spybot is detecting before posting in malware removal,so it can be seen. That way,it is easier to determine if a post in malware removal is needed.Just because,if I recall correctly, sometimes Spybot offers to run on the next startup, and sometimes it is because of a usage track.Perhaps that is not so with the newer version, but I still wouldn't mind seeing just what is being detected.

So,if you wouldn't mind, could you please do this?
    • Open SpyBot.
    • Check for problems.
    • When the scan completes, right click on the results list, select "Copy results to clipboard".
    • Paste (Ctrl+V) those results into a new post.

Yep this is it because it says some files are in use by memory and needs to restart the computer to remove them. Like I said about 3 or 4 months back this happen to me once and each time you run SB it reports finding the same files again and wants to restart to remove them.

Even tho after you run a hijack log to make sure the infected files are not present, Sb still see's them, It was some where in the program settings or a log file was generated I think under my doc folder or log files of infections found, forgot which but when I deleted it, Sb reports no threats found. Mabey it was not here in these forums is where the info about this was posted, I will keep searching and looking.

    Default so did......

you try the safe mode method i suggested? Also, can you at the end of the spybot scan, (where it has the things you are unable to fix) right click in the scanning window and copy into clipboard. paste what you are trying to fix here. thanks!
