    Default Bearshare attracts Viruses

Bearshare's cookies attract trojans because I just left my broadband on without accessing any websites or downloads, i just turned on Bearshare. The next morning I had Virtumonde.dll and something called Windows.Settings.Changer (or something like it) that made it so I couldn't change my Background or resolution. I had all the processes off except for explorer.exe, and Bearshare.exe, I also made sure there were no other suspicious processes in the system processes as well.

    Hello Neckername,

Why was Bearshare left running if unattended? There is no way of knowing the circumstances under which an infection could have entered the system.

If you would like someone to take a look at the system, please follow the procedure in this link:
"BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance)

Then start your own thread in the Malware Removal Forum where a helper will advise you when available.

    Regards.
