Spybot will not run or install

[simplymadd]

I had Spybot 1.52 installed and it would not run at all. I removed it and tried to install Spybot 1.6 and it will not install. I have tried in safe mode and not in safe mode and no change. Other programs install fine. I have installed AVG 8, Ad-Aware 2008 among others with no issues. I already did a repair windows install and have scanned and cleaned the computer with AVG 8 and Ad-Aware but I still can not install Spybot 1.52 or 1.6 Any ideas?

It appears, since the HJT log is out of date, that you never read the directions? If you still need help, read them and post a new HJT log using version 2.0.2 described in the directions. If you do not respond, I will close this topic in 48 hours.

This is fixed.... I was able to install spybot by changing the name of the .exe
This allowed the install to run and then I was able to scan the machine.
It is all back to normal now.
