    Lightbulb Smitfraud-C.gp false positive

    I'm doing a normal scan, and S&D is detecting C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\WindowsUpdate
    as Smitfraud-C.gp

I don't see anything wrong with that registry entry and the wuauclt.exe, so... I'm guessing this is a false positive too.

    hello Tachikoma,
the issue you reported actually is not related to the topic of this thread.
Please send a full scan report and if possible the wuauclt.exe in question to detections@spybot.info
It is very likely that in your case it is not a false positive. Even with automatic Windows update activated this system start entry usually does not exist.
Please see this sticky on how to report possible false positives.
