    Lightbulb please click.........

start-all programs-spybot search and destroy-right click the spybot search and destroy icon, and click send to-desktop. Hope that was easy for you to follow.

    Default Spybot

If it was in programs I would have done that already. I have to go to run and look for files-and run it-but that will not allow me to create a shortcut???

    patartsy,

Are you saying that in addition to your desktop icon, the menu items for Spybot, shredder, tutorial are also missing from your menu?

What operating system are you using and what version of Spybot do you have?.

    patartsy:

Starting with Spybot 1.5.2 some of Spybot's executables are hidden as protected operating system files. To see them:
    • Using Windows Explorer navigate to:
      • C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy
    • In the Tools menu select Folder Options…
    • In the Folder Options dialog select the View tab.
      1. Under the "Hidden files and folders" options:
        • Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected.
        • Not "Do not show hidden files and folders".
      2. Uncheck the following option:
        • Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)
    • Click the Apply button.
    • Click the OK button.
    • The files should now be displayed

Once you can see SpybotSD.exe, right click on the program and select "Create Shortcut".

Note: If you uncheck the "Hide protected operating system file (Recommended)" option to view Spybot's executables, I suggest that you return the option to its original setting when you are done.

    Default Problem is corrected. Thanks.

I ended up needing to remove the old one and download the newest version. Works great and included everything.. Love your forum!
