'Win32' Artefact or problem?

Hi helpful people.

What seemed like a simple query over at:

Regarding a 'System Internals' Spybot check that came up with an odd 'Win32' reference. Led to an update to the new Spybot with TeaTimer on (and using huge amounts of system resources on start up), that found malware in the winlogon, that also seems to indicate 'win32'. TT 'terminated' this and it has not been mentioned since, but the system internals still comes up with the same 'Win32' ref which I still don't know if it should simply be deleted or not.

The upgrade of SpyBot also highlighted a couple of other problems with the Hosts_Secure programme suddenly requiring a debugger which I don't have, and with a 'parking window' message on system shutdown. There is also a general slowness of keyboard response, and a reluctance of open windows blocks to disappear from the task bar after their window has been closed.

Also a bit puzzled as to why 'ctfmon' just keeps coming on back, though we don't really seem to need it. Earlier SpyBots indicated that this could be spyware.

Advice in the other thread included updating to SP3 and IE7, but as what brought all this up was my desire to get the machine clean and clear of junk before updating and cloning to a bigger drive I would like to make sure that all is as it should be before proceeding.

Zenobia, on the other forum, suggested I run the thread and a HIjackThis log by you people first. I would be most grateful for any further light that can be thrown on the situation by your good selves.

Please could you give me a list of the programs that are installed.

• Start HijackThis
• Click on the Misc Tools button
• Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.

You will see a list with the programs installed in your computer.
Click on save list button and specify where you would like to save this file.
When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file.
Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad into your next post.
