windows ME and 1.6

There seems to be some issue with 1.6 update and ME.Gets to a certain point in the process and then stops and chokes on some file like tcp.dll file and it won't finish the upgrade so I decided to leave it at 1.5.2 after several attempts. Anyone else had trouble trying to upgrade ME ? Yeah I know it not supported my microsoft but S&D says its still supported.

Did you tried to upgrade via update?
Or did you download the new version manually?

It was via update , was running 1.5.2 when it was updated . It seems to have gotten thru whatever problem it was and is currently scanning but hung the first time it was opened and had to reboot the whole machine so I will see how that goes for a little while before messing with it or going back to 1.5.2 .
