    Default Cannot connect to server

When i download the current version of sbsd, everything is fine -- until the program attempts to connect to the download server to download additional files. Then i get the same message:

    Cannot resolve connection to www.safer-networking.com

i am running a clean fairly new windows xp pc with 3 gigs of ram and a pentium 4 processor. I don't have any problems downloading and running other programs.

I am running avast, winpatrol and spyware blaster.

    Help!!!

    Louis

I think you meant safer-networking.org. Are you attempting to update during the installation? If so, then untick "Update immediately" and continue with the installation.

    Indeed. The message was .ORG.

    Thanks,

    Default Progress....perhaps

If you uncheck the DEFAULT "download updates immediately" the progam will install...however, during that process [after installing a restore point] it tries to update and cannot connect to the update server.

So, I have Spybot S&D installed but it cannot update. THE SEARCH BUTTON IS GRAYED OUT and the flashlight that should move back and forth as it looks for updates is frozen. The UPDATER program freezes and I must use Control Alt Del to kill it.

Is there some issue with the update server?

    Thanks,

    Louis

Are you presented with a list of mirrors?

What kind of Internet Connection do you have?

    Default Hi-speed DSL Connection

I have a hi-speed DSL connection. The provider is SBC.

I believe there were options for the initial download, which (with your suggestion) was not the problem. The problem is the program's inability to connect to the update server, which it tries to do.
