Slow computer and Google not working

Hi, i enjoyed great assistance last time i was in here and has used Spybot ever since.

Now i've come across something weird.
When opening my browsers (mozilla and IE) google pops up with a sorry page claiming that i'm running a virusattempt and i must type a checking code to get to the ordinary google homepage.

Also my computer has been very very slow in it's opening fase and at other situations.

I use Vista and the computer is a HP.

Have rune spybot and found nothing except a tracking coockie.

All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Make sure you read and follow the directions, anything else will slow the process and waste both of our time.I suggest you keep this computer offline except when troubleshooting, the junk may download more. If you have any tool I use, delete it and download it new from the link I provide. Read and follow the directions carefully, the tools will not work unless you do.
The junk can be tough to remove, so do not expect fast or easy. Many of our tools will not run on Vista so all I can promise is to do my best, if that works for you then proceed like this.

Nothing really showing in the HJT log but the symptoms you describe sound like a rouge spyware program. Let's have MBAM take a look first and see what happens.

1) I see Symantec Shared and Avast4, which of these is your antivirus program? See this:

2) We need first to disable TeaTimer that it doesn't interfere with fixes. You can re-enable it when you're clean again:
* Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode.
* If it is not already set to do this Go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
* On the left hand side, Click on Tools
* Then click on the Resident Icon in the List
* Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
* Restart your computer.
(leave TT disabled until we finish)

3) Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your Desktop
http://www.besttechie.net/tools/mbam-setup.exe

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
* Be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select Perform FULL SCAN, then click Scan.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be opened by going to Start > All Programs > Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware > Logs > log-date.txt
* Please post contents of that file & a new HJT log in your next reply.

1) I see Symantec Shared and Avast4, which of these is your antivirus program?

I use Avast.
Have used the 60 day trial of some antivirus program when i bought the cpu, don't remember if it was symantec. But i'm using Avast now.

Now to the action:
I disabled tea timer.

Did the MBAM test and it found some trojan.agent files???
But i'm sure you can see that by the logs.

Well....
Uninstalled Symentic Live Update the normal way and it seems as it is gone.

I have no problems with the internet anymore but still think my cpu is slow when starting up, but don't know if that is just capacity problems??

Haven't experienced any malware and google is running fine.

Let's do a little minor cleaning:

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Just have a question.
This line in the HJT log:
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Launcher] %WINDIR%\SMINST\launcher.exe

Is that launcher.exe anything to be afraid of or is it just normal?
Im using a HP computer. Have googled it and seen both pros and cons.

Otherwise all should be fine now?

Use a good search engine to get that information, like Google:

My scanners tell me if it is valid or not, but not what it is. Unless I have been seeing the item (and hackers can call their junk anything they wish)
as a trojan, which I have not for that item, I leave lt alone unless there is some reason to look harder for issues. Then I will ask a deep scanner like Kaspersky Online Scan to look at all files to see if it can spot a problem

I believe it is a valid file, but you can always ask a free online scanner like these to take a look:

You would need to locate the item be enabling all files and folders:

so you can navigate to the file to scan it. Once you locate the file, you can also right click and choose properties and often get the information to assure you it is a valid file.
Having never owned or had a Vista machine in my posession, that is about all I can say about that file.

The file name is kind of generic: launcher.exe and it is probably in System32 folder but having not looked in System32 in Vista, I can not say for sure.

Well, no problems with Google, but the Computer is still slow when starting up. Must look into that and delete some old stuff, programs etc.

But again, thanks for the help with the google problem and the trojans. I appreciate it much.
