need help with mother in laws laptop

hi there, i would be very grateful of any help that you can offer.this laptop is runnin very slow and have removed 3 viruses. when i run avira anti virus it found another and im sure there are more hidden somewhere. here is my hjt log and hope it helps.

i did all that you told me, when i opened the online scanner i started it and as soon as it started it closed firefox. i tried a few times but everytime it just shut everything down. i did a fresh hjt log and will post it now. not sure what to do as i could not do the online scanner

Hi

Did you try running scanner with Internet Explorer?

hi i just tried with internet explorer and has just done the same. internet explore takes ages to open and once i got it to open i went to kaspersky's website and tried to run the online scanner and as soon as i got there internet explorer kicked me out to the desktop and closed the window.
not sure what to try now

Let's try this:

Go here to run an online scannner from ESET.

• Note: You will need to use Internet explorer for this scan
• Tick the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
• Click Start
• When asked, allow the activex control to install
• Click Start
• Make sure that the option Remove found threats is unchecked and the option Scan unwanted applications is checkmarked.
• Click Scan
• Wait for the scan to finish
• Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
• Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic, laong with a new HijackThis log & a description of any remaining problems

Does your user account have administrator rights? If not, you have to log on as user who has those rights. Every system should have at least one administrator account.

hi i got that problem sorted now about the user accounts. i ran the scan but half way through it just stops and closes. while running the scan i had a virus/trojan alret come up from avira. was something like trojan unpacked. so i sent that to quaratine.
what should i try? sorry

Let's see if we can make this one work

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop.

• Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
• At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
• If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
• Once the program has loaded, select Perform full scan, then click Scan.
• When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
• Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
• When completed, a log will open in Notepad. Please save it to a convenient location. The log can also be found here: C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
• Please post contents of that file & a fresh hjt log in your next reply.
