    Default Manual removal instructions for ADWareBazooka

    The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "ADWareBazooka" manually.

    Description:
    Dubious antispyware product. Generates false positives. Same Product as AdwarePunisher, HitSpy, RemedyAntiSpy, SpyiBlock, SystemStable, The SpyGuard, ...
    Supposed Functionality:
    ADWare Bazooka claims to be the most technologically advanced Anti-Spyware tool on the Web today. But in fact it shows false positives to urge the user to purchase a license.
    Desktop:

    Please remove the following files from your desktop.
    To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

    • Shortcuts named "ADWareBazooka.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\ADWareBazooka.exe".



    Start Menu:

    Please remove the following items from your start menu.
    To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

    • Items named "ADWareBazooka Monitor.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\adwarebazooka_monitor.exe".
    • Items named "ADWareBazooka.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\adwarebazooka.exe".
    • Items named "Uninstall.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\Uninstall.exe".



    Autorun:

    Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.

    • Entries named "ADWare Bazooka" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\ADWareBazooka.exe".
    • Entries named "ADWare Bazooka Monitor" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\ADWareBazooka_Monitor.exe".



    Installed Software List:

    You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.

    • Products that have a key or property named "ADWareBazooka".



    Files:

    Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

    • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\ADWareBazooka.lnk".
    • A file with an unknown location named "ADWareBazookaInstaller.exe".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\adwarebazooka.exe".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\adwarebazooka_monitor.exe".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\Uninstall.exe".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\adwarebazooka.dll".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\ADWareBazooka_monitor.dll".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\UnzDll.dll".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\database.dat".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\scan.log".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\Scripts\ADWareBazooka.sss".
    • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\Scripts\AutoExec.sss".
    • A file with an unknown location named "ADWareBazookaInstaller.exe".
    • A file with an unknown location named "ADWareBazookaInstaller.exe".


    Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If ADWareBazooka uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
    You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

    Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

    Folders:

    Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.

    • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka".
    • The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\ADWareBazooka".
    • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\Quarantine".
    • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\Scripts".


    Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If ADWareBazooka uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
    You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

    Registry:

    You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

    • Delete the registry key "ADWareBazooka" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
    • Delete the registry value "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\ADWareBazooka.exe" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\Locales\".
    • Delete the registry value "<$PROGRAMFILES>\ADWareBazooka\ADWareBazooka_Monitor.exe" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland\Locales\".


    If ADWareBazooka uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
