Description:
If SpyDefence is installed on the computer it will find a lot of malware (that does not really exist) which only can be removed by purchasing a licence.
Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.

  • Items named "SpyDefence Monitor.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence Monitor.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence Monitor.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "Uninstall.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\Uninstall.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence Monitor.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\*.exe".
  • Items named "SpyDefence Monitor.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\*.exe".

  • Items named "Spy-Defence.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\*.exe".
  • Items named "Uninstall.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\Uninstall.exe".



Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.

  • Products that have a key or property named "Spy Defence".
  • Products that have a key or property named "SpyDefence".
  • Products that have a key or property named "Spy-Defence".



Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.

  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\database.dat".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\SpyDefence.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\SpyDefence.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\SpyDefence_Monitor.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\SpyDefence_Updater.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\Uninstall.exe".
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\SpyDefence.lnk".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\database.dat".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\SpyDefence.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\SpyDefence.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\SpyDefence_Monitor.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\SpyDefence_Updater.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\database.dat".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\SpyDefence.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\Spy-Defence.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\SpyDefence_Monitor.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\SpyDefence_Updater.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\Uninstall.exe".
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\Spy-Defence.lnk".


Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If SpyDefence uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\Spy Defence".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy Defence\Quarantine".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\SpyDefence".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SpyDefence\Quarantine".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMS>\Spy-Defence".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Spy-Defence\Quarantine".


Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If SpyDefence uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

  • Delete the registry key "Spy Defence" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "SpyDefence" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "Spy-Defence" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".


If SpyDefence uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
