Download Lost

I went to the download page, saw the Beg notice, went to PayPal, made a donation. then I went back to the download page and selected the first choice on the list, BN *****. I started the download, to the 'Desktop'. The downloader said it would be more than an hour (slow dialup). So I went to eat lunch. When I came back the download window was gone, and a IE page full of spam, offers of other security programs was present. I looked to the 'desktop' for the download but it was not there. I did a search for 'spybotsd160.exe' on my computeer but could not find it.
So now I get to wait for another hour+ to download the installer from the Safeer website this time. This sucks !! So I thought that I would come to this forum to snivel and whine.
Any Idea why the first download was not succesfull??

Ok just making sure you were not downloading from a rogue site.

I don't know why you had a problem with the download from betanews, hope your retry is smoother.
