    Default Cannot remove Fake.PCTools

Hi all i have a a toshiba laptop running xp running sp2.I installed spybot 1.60.0.30 the otherday and ran a scan when it had installed and it found this Fake.PCTools trojan. I told spybot to fix the problem but it said it couldn't and needed to restart. So i let it run on restart and it still wasn't able to remove it. It seems to link to a process callled bmz3.exe and won't end in task manager. I installed avg 8 and ran that and it picked it up and tried to remove it but failed. so i thought i would fool it by creating a blank notepad document and saving it with the same name in the same location. It worked for a bit but then it got replaced by the original virus one.

Done a fair amount of research online and there doesn't seem to be a lot of help on this problem.

    Any Ideas would be great.

    cheers.
