Description:
Fraud.PCHealth claims to be an antispyware solution. When it is installed on the computer it shows a lot of harmless cookies, browser helper objects and autorun entries as high risk spyware problems installed by itself. When the user wants to fix these false positives he has to purchase a license.
Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "Smart Antivirus-2009.exe" and pointing to "*".
  • Entries named "w·µÖwM" and pointing to "d…Ñwexe".

Important: There are more autorun entries that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\BEST ZOO PORN.url".
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\QUALITY PORN.url".
  • The file at "c:\x".
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\BEST BDSM PORN.url".
  • The file at "<$DESKTOP>\GAY FETISH SEX.url".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\LPVideo.dll".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\0.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\0.gif".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\1.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\1.gif".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\1.ico".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\2.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\2.gif".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\2.ico".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\3.exe".
  • The file at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter\3.gif".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.PCHealth uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\LPVideoPlugin".
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\PCHealthCenter".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Fraud.PCHealth uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "Smart Antivirus 2009" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "Smart Antivirus 2009" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "LPVideoPlugin" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "{017CBAF4-A176-4AD8-8BDF-050CC763F4EA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
  • Delete the registry key "LPVideo.DLL" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AppID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{22EA5610-39AA-4231-AD6C-5D2878D68704}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{91D287B0-6475-4850-ABDA-D730173A98CF}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{428314CE-9E7B-4776-8228-D73B49630198}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{69F57287-079D-44E3-88AC-0136292E74F9}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "LPVideo.LPVideoPlugin", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "LPVideo.LPVideoPlugin.1", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "LPVideo.XMLDOMDocumentEventsSink", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "LPVideo.XMLDOMDocumentEventsSink.1", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{8D9C9B71-2B0D-4B0B-A5A5-5FDF1B40B9EE}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{91D287B0-6475-4850-ABDA-D730173A98CF}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
If Fraud.PCHealth uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
