Description:
NousTech.UCleaner gets downloaded by adware. It claims to be a PC cleaning tool. When the user starts a scan, it finds some harmless cookies declared as high risk security problems. If the user wants to get these problems fixed by UCleaner he has to purchase a license.

Quicklaunch area:

Please remove the following items from your start quick launch area text to the "Start" button in the taskbar at the bottom.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Quicklaunch symbols named "Start UltimateCleaner 2007.lnk" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\Ultimate Cleaner\UltimateCleaner.exe".

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "Ultimate Cleaner" and pointing to ""<$PROGRAMFILES>\Ultimate Cleaner\UltimateCleaner.exe" hide".
  • Entries named "Ultimate Cleaner" and pointing to ""<$PROGRAMFILES>\Ultimate Cleaner\UltimateCleaner.exe" hide".
  • Entries named "SC2" and pointing to "<$PROGRAMFILES>\SecCenter\scprot*.exe".

  • Delete the registry key "{6BCAF211-7C7C-4469-9A88-4FF850C29CC0}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{8ADB8D86-CCD6-4019-9F91-C7F5AE7F15EB}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "UCSecureDelete" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\".
  • Delete the registry key "UCSecureDelete" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\".
  • Delete the registry key "Ultimate Cleaner" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry value "{8ADB8D86-CCD6-4019-9F91-C7F5AE7F15EB}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Approved\".
  • Delete the registry key "Ultimate Cleaner" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\".
  • Delete the registry key "{D2B2EF10-2DF3-49F3-8F4A-A67EBB621F96}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry value "{D2B2EF10-2DF3-49F3-8F4A-A67EBB621F96}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Shell Extensions\Approved\".
If NousTech.UCleaner uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
