Description:
It installs a service and autorun entries which load every startup. It creates nkunpack.dll and nukfs.sys and hides it in the from Windows API so you cannot see the files. It connects to the internet without userīs permission.
Run Spybot in Safe-Mode to delete this threat.

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\country.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "country.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\nukfs.sys".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\nkunpack.dll".
  • A file with an unknown location named "nkunpack.dll".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\eps32sys.sys".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\winprint.dll".
  • The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\1.tmp".
  • The file at "<$LOCALSETTINGS>\Temp\4.tmp".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If Goldun uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Folders:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.

  • Delete the registry key "mmccrd" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "mmccrd" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "mmccrd" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "wdntg4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\".
  • Delete the registry key "njudpe4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "njudpe4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "njudpe4" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "nkunpack" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\".
  • Delete the registry key "nukfs" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "nukfs" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "nukfs" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "nukfs" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "nukfs" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "eps32sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "eps32sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "eps32sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "eps32sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet003\Services\".
  • Delete the registry key "eps32sys" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Services\".
