The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "InterFun" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Description:
Upon clicking 'enter', a window is opened saying 'opening website', while in the background the connection is made.
Supposed Functionality:
Dialer, some about € 50 per call.
Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Shortcuts named "Portale-Privato.lnk" and pointing to "8ALL142.EXE".
  • Shortcuts named "Süsse Mädels vor der Livecam.lnk" and pointing to "<$SYSDIR>\CHATZUGANG.EXE".
  • Shortcuts that include "chatzugang.exe" in the target they point to.
  • Shortcuts that include "chatzugang.scr" in the target they point to.
  • Shortcuts that include "conflict.exe" in the target they point to.

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Items named "Portale-Privato.lnk" and pointing to "8ALL142.EXE".

Quicklaunch area:

Please remove the following items from your start quick launch area text to the "Start" button in the taskbar at the bottom.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Quicklaunch symbols named "Portale-Privato.lnk" and pointing to "8ALL142.EXE".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\TEMP\8ALL142.bi1".
  • A file with an unknown location named "8ALL142.EXE".
  • A file with an unknown location named "active2.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "conflict.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "active2sept.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "titaniumOsUpdater2.exe".
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\APPLOG\ACTIVE2.LGC".
  • A file with an unknown location named "blind.zip".
  • A file with an unknown location named "wintap.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "chatzugang.scr".
  • A file with an unknown location named "chatzugang.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\CHATZUGANG.EXE".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\Active2.exe".
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\System\Active2.exe".

Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If InterFun uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "Interfun27709" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
  • Delete the registry value "Interfun27709" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
  • Delete the registry key "Interfun28318" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
  • Delete the registry value "Interfun28318" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
  • Delete the registry key "Interfun30953" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
  • Delete the registry value "Interfun30953" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
  • Delete the registry key "Interfun64821" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
  • Delete the registry value "Interfun64821" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Addresses\".
If InterFun uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

INI files:

The following .ini file entries may need corrections. You can open this files in Notepad or any other text editor.
  • Please remove "<$WINDIR>\DESKTOP\CHATZU~1.SCR" from entry "SCRNSAVE.EXE" from section "boot" in file "<$WINDIR>\system.ini".
