Description:
For installation of their products, something named RedV easyInstall is installed. This program runs continuously and displays ads. The tray icon allows to suspend any incoming offers for up to two hours, but not constantly. A program that promises to get rid of ads, while silenty placing ads with their installer is trojan behaviour.

There is no Privacy Statement on their homepage, just this description:
Are you tired of Ads interrupting your work or play?
RedV AdProtector™ is a great new product that allows you to completely remove programs that display advertisements and which may also be spying on your Internet surfing.

And a short quote from their EULA:
In order to provide this service, RedV Network collects information on your web usage that remains anonymous to third parties. RedV Network may derive personal preference profiles from your Personal Information and web usage.

Removal Instructions:

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "EasyInstall".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "EasyInstall".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\EIUninst.exe".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If EasyInstall uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$PROGRAMFILES>\RedV\EasyInstall".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If EasyInstall uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "EasyInstall" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RedV.net\".
  • Delete the registry key "RVPopup" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\RedV.net\".
If EasyInstall uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
