Description:
IWantSearch is Browser Helper Object from a software company known for its parasitive Software and ill behaviour.
At certain URLs the BHO will show popup ads.
The search sites by ICommerce Solutions are very suspicious, too.
Different searchsites by ICommerce Solutions are almost identical, with just the exception, that one does not have a link to the "Terms".
A popup on iwantsearch website is a direct lie. It says that Spyware has been found on the computer. This popup leads to another ICommerce Solutions Website.

There is no download link on the website, also no official statement, no privacy statement. One will only find the Terms of Use (with Terms of Use not being available on web--search.com).

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products that have a key or property named "Winds_24".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\winsx.dll".
  • A file with an unknown location named "winsx.dll".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If IwantSearch uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Folders:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these folders.
  • The directory at "<$LOCALAPPDATA>\Winds_24".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If IwantSearch uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify folders!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "{A9AEE0DD-89E1-40EE-8749-A18650CC2175}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{F9BDB492-37D6-4E33-B324-058B22E21FFA}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{1293FED0-03D0-4426-B0CF-9D3C5141BA8C}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Popup.Pop", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Popup.Pop.1", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{A9AEE0DD-89E1-40EE-8749-A18650CC2175}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\".
  • Delete the registry key "Poper" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Pop\".
If IwantSearch uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
