Description:
Installs by ActiveX without informing the user or asking for confirmation when the user wants to download game demos. Whole the user may think he just does a download, he is made a member by Gigex. Gigex collects personal identifiable information about members, thus qualifying for being called spyware.

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$WINDIR>\Downloaded Program Files\vxpspeeddelivery.dll".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If SpeedDelivery uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "Vxpspeeddelivery.download", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "{A7798D6C-C6B5-4F26-9363-F7CDBBFFA607}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "{D7729994-C4D8-480F-B905-291E7694A217}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Interface\".
  • Delete the registry key "{6194EEA8-AF20-4844-A422-DE1E64BAF6E3}" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\".
  • Delete the registry key "{A7798D6C-C6B5-4F26-9363-F7CDBBFFA607}" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Code Store Database\Distribution Units\".
  • References to the file "vxpspeeddelivery.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls\.
  • References to the file "vxpspeeddelivery.dll" at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ModuleUsage\.
If SpeedDelivery uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
