Default V.1.6.0: how do I remove the default S&D scan on avi files?

    Hello,

I'm new on this forum, so I hope this is not a question already posted and solved. However, it wasn't among the suggested ones, so I should be OK

I upgraded to v1.6 and, since then, everytime I double click an avi file instead of opening it S&D takes over and scans the file. This would be OK if, after scanning the file would actually run, but, alas, it isn't so. One is forced to right click the file and choose the play with Windows Media Player option if he wants to run the file.

Obviously the question is: how do I get rid of the automatic S&D scan? I'd like to be choosing when to run scans and I'd like to go back to my old habits, i.e. double click and the file starts!

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

    Luca

To fix the problem and still keep the "Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy" option in the right click context menu try this suggestion posted by matt Humphreys in:

If you would like to eliminate the "Scan using Spybot-Search&Destroy" right click context menu option entirely from the context menu on all file types, see this post by Zer0 Voltage in:
