The following instructions have been created to help you to get rid of "X-Diver" manually.
Use this guide at your own risk; software should usually be better suited to remove malware, since it is able to look deeper.

Removal Instructions:

Desktop:

Please remove the following files from your desktop.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Shortcuts that include "Diver32-cebit.exe" in the target they point to.
  • Shortcuts that include "CUWIN32.EXE" in the target they point to.
  • Shortcuts that include "cu764072497.exe" in the target they point to.

Start Menu:

Please remove the following items from your start menu.
To check where they are pointing to, right-click them and choose "Properties" from the context menu appearing.
  • Items named "X-Diver.lnk" and pointing to "LOVING IT .EXE -b".
  • Items that include "Diver32.exe" in the target they point to.
  • Items that include "Diver32-cebit.exe" in the target they point to.
  • Items that include "CUWIN32.EXE" in the target they point to.
  • Items that include "cu764072497.exe" in the target they point to.

Autorun:

Please use Spybot-S&D, RunAlyzer or msconfig.exe to remove the following autorun entries.
  • Entries named "X-Diver".

Installed Software List:

You can try to uninstall products with the names listed below; for items identified by other properties or to avoid malware getting active again on uninstallation, use Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer to locate and get rid of these entries.
  • Products with a key that includes "{CE5D2BAD-61A3-46FA-BB22-E5BA59DE26B3}" in its name or properties.
  • Products that are named "X-Diver".

Files:

Please use Windows Explorer or another file manager of your choice to locate and delete these files.
  • The file at "<$STARTMENU>\X-Diver.lnk".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\LOVING IT .EXE".
  • A file with an unknown location named "loving it .exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "diver32.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "diver32-cebit.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "cu1247970483.exe".
  • A file with an unknown location named "cu764072497.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\Diver32.exe".
  • The file at "<$SYSDIR>\CUWIN32.EXE".
Make sure you set your file manager to display hidden and system files. If X-Diver uses rootkit technologies, use our RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.
You will have to use a global search for files without a name specified. Be extra careful, because just the name might not be enough to identify files!

Important: There are more files that cannot be safely described in simple words. Please use Spybot-S&D to remove them.

Registry:

You can use regedit.exe (included in Windows) to locate and delete these registry entries.
  • Delete the registry key "LOVING IT .EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "XDIVER.XDIVER.201", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry value "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\LOVING~1.EXE" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\User Trusted External Applications\".
  • Delete the registry key "X-Diver" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\".
  • Delete the registry key "{CE5D2BAD-61A3-46Fa-BB22-E5BA59DE26B3}" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\".
  • Delete the registry key "EPOS AG" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\".
  • Delete the registry key "application/x-dpf" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\".
  • Delete the registry key "DIVER32.EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\".
  • Delete the registry key "CUWIN32.EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\".
  • Delete the registry key "DIVER32-CEBIT.EXE" at "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\".
  • Delete the registry value "application/x-dpf" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Suffixes\".
  • Delete the registry value "application/x-dpf" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\Viewers\".
  • Delete the registry value "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\DIVER32.exe" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\User Trusted External Applications\".
  • Delete the registry value "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SCENE1~1.exe" at "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Netscape\Netscape Navigator\User Trusted External Applications\".
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "X-Diver.Params", plus associated values.
  • A key in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\ named "XDIVER.XDIVER.200", plus associated values.
  • Delete the registry key "AASP" at "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\".
If X-Diver uses rootkit technologies, use our RegAlyzer, RootAlyzer or our Total Commander anti-rootkit plugins.

Browser:

The following browser plugins or items can either be removed directly in your browser, or through the help of e.g. Spybot-S&D or RunAlyzer.
  • Look for Internet Explorer extensions named "Video-Up Dialer".
  • Look for Internet Explorer extensions named "X-Diver".
